Reflexology
Reflexology is a Complementary Therapy that works on the feet or hands enabling the body to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, it is in a state of "imbalance", and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing.A Reflexologist uses hands only to apply pressure to the feet. For each person the application and the effect of the therapy is unique. Sensitive trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet, and by working on these points the Reflexologist can release blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the whole body. Tensions are eased, and circulation and elimination is improved. This gentle therapy encourages the body to heal itself, often counteracting a lifetime of misuse. Reflexology is complementary therapy, which works on the feet to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms.
Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore it's own healthy balance.
Reflexology has anecdotally been shown to be effective for: stress-related conditions, migraine, fertility, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances amongst many other problems or conditions.
Ann Davies, director & accountant at Samye Foundation Wales, is also a fully qualified reflexologist.
Massage
Massage is the therapeutic use of touch to improve health and well being. There are many different types and variations of massage. Massage varies from one to country to another, and from one region to another each with broadly different origins and aims. Some focus on soothing muscle pain, others on increasing energy levels, some aim to improve a specific physical condition, others simply to help you relax.
Massage has significant benefits for all of the body's essential systems, it maintains our general health, fitness, flexibility, complements traditional medicine in the treatment of specific conditions and symptoms, and remediates against future injuries. Massage may also relax or stimulate the nervous system, reducing stress hormones or preparing the body for exercise.
Lynsey Maher is professionally qualified and fully insured to carry out a wide range of holistic therapies. She undertakes continuous professional development and abides by a strict code of conduct.
