Please note that our popular Mindfulness courses begin again in September and run for 8 weeks. The cost for the course is only £120 for the 8 weeks, which also includes a weekend practice day and a CD.
It is important that you register in advance to ensure a place, though ad hoc attendance will be considered on the decision of the course provider.

1st, 2nd & 3rd August: TALKS BY GELONG THUBTEN
Talks by Gelong Thubten, A buddhist monk from the Samye Ling monastry in Scotland who has completed a 4 year long retreat and will be going back in for another 4 year retreat in a few months time.Thubten has been spending most of his year out from retreat giving courses to organisations in the UK, Zurich, Germany, South Africa, Brussels and Holland.

Saturday 7 August, 2010, GUIDED NATURE WALK
with Nev Davies local ecologist and expert ornithologist.
9.30am at the Maenllwyd Public House, Rudry
We will walk into the forestry area and then into a beautiful beech woodland. From here, and after a short break we will drop down into a valley before a gentle climb up onto the Graig Llanishen Ridge. The views from here across to Somerset and Devon are spectacular. We will learn local history such as the nearby nuclear fallout observation post. We will then drop back into forestry where we will take a series of paths to a stream for our second stop. From here we will return to the pub car park, and again optional, drinks and a bite to eat.
I would estimate this walk to be 5 miles and about 4-5hrs long depending on stops etc. However, it will be easy going. Bring some sarnies or similar on this one though...
We will see a variety of fungi and plants of interest plus a few more surprises, and some good birds including raptors, and if we are very lucky, common crossbills which breed here.
It is important to register your interest and book in advance as numbers are restricted for this event.
