Gelong Thubten has collaborated on Ruby Wax’s book, “How to be Human” which is a conversation between Ruby, a monk and a neuroscientist, and is out on January 25th.
Thubten will be in Cardiff on January 20th and will be speaking that afternoon at our centre.

Gelong Thubten - 7 Points of Mind Training: Learning to Let Go - Point 2
Gelong Thubten is delivering the next module of the 7 Points of Mind series. This particular module will provide meditation instruction, with a particular emphasis on how to learn to let go of attachment to our moods and distractions. We will train in how to discover that our minds are bigger than our problems.

Gelong Thubten gives generously of his time to run these fundraising events and they are entirely supported by donations. No-one will be turned away for lack of funds but places are limited so please book early through our website to avoid disappointment.
You can attend this session singularly or you can choose to also attend the remaining sessions (dates to be confirmed).
The 7 Points of Mind Training
Whilst this event is part of an ongoing series it is also suitable for people who are new to mindfulness and meditation, and would like to attend an introductory session.
Each half day retreat will be a combination of teaching and practice with time for reflection, discussion and advice.
It is suitable for total beginners as well as the more experienced.
This teaching programme is designed to help you deepen your practice and increase your commitment to mindfulness, meditation and compassion training, bringing those qualities into all areas of daily life. The training helps us to look at our reactions and attitudes, and to transform life's challenges and difficulties.
About Gelong Thubten
Gelong Thubten is a senior monk from Kagyu Samye Ling monastery. He has been a monk for 25 years and has spent 6 years in intensive meditation retreats. He spent many years as the personal assistant of our Founder, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche. Thubten teaches on Buddhism and mindfulness internationally, and provides training to staff at the head offices of Google, ACAS, LinkedIn, Lloyds Bank, HSBC, major law firms and many other companies and organisations. He also works with the NHS, universities and schools, as well as the prison service and addiction counselling centres. He is one of the Directors of Samye Foundation Wales, and also of Kagyu Samye Dzong Cardiff. He is also the Director of Samye Yorkshire and is a Trustee of ROKPA International, the humanitarian aid charity.
