Finding Deeper Meaning in Our Lives

Sat 17th June

Finding Deeper Meaning in Our Lives - Gelong Thubten

Finding Deeper Meaning in Our Lives

Teachings on the Four Foundations, or the Four Thoughts. The first of these is how to reflect upon the deep potential we have as a human being, and how to make full use of this.

There will be information on some of the main tenets of Buddhist philosophy and practice.

Gelong Thubten gives generously of his time to run these fundraising events and our ability to run them is entirely supported by donations.

These events will take part in the Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room at Samye Foundation. They are open to all, whether you are Buddhist or not.

We suggest a donation of £20. No-one will be turned away for lack of funds but places are limited so please book early via

www.sfwales.org

or by contacting admin@sfwales.org to avoid disappointment.

Flying on Wings of Voidness and Compassion

Just as a bird needs to balance flight, using both wings, so do we need to maintain our loving care and kindness for each other as we discover the illusory way in which people construct their realities. Ken will convey some traditional advice on this very important topic.

£30/day or £60 for the weekend. Please book early to avoid disappointment as we expect this to be popular.

TBA

Screening of "A Remarkable Life" documentary

Update: We had planned to show this on Fri 21st April but will be showing it later in the year if at all possible. Watch this space for announcements.

On Fri 21st April we will be showing multiple screenings throughout the day of the documentary "A Remarkable Life" about Akong Rinpoche. We expect this event to be popular so please book early to avoid disappointment. You can register your interest now and we will provide details of showing times closer to the date.

You can find out more about the film at the website
As with all things, email admin@sfwales.org to register interest

Open Day - May 28th

Our Open Day on Mar 11th was a great success and we raised over £800 from events on the day, the raffle, sales of crafts, donations, mindfulness talks and sales of Anna Polya's artworks. More importantly, we reached a large number of people and raised awareness of our Cardiff Mindfulness & Wellbeing Centre.

We will be holding our next open day on Sun 28th May. Please save the date if you would like to attend. If you would like to help out in any way, or run an event/course/workshop, please contact us at admin@sfwales.org to let us know.

Space permitting we would be happy to host anyone who would like to have a table at the event, should any community groups or therapists wish to have a presence at the open day.

Weekly drop-in events* operate on a donation basis. We suggest £5 / £3 (unwaged) to help us cover centre running costs, but nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds. For details of the varying levels of Centre Membership benefits please contact us for a standing order form.

*excludes Qi Gong, Yoga, T'ai Chi and Mindfulness Courses. Please contact the Cardiff Centre if you would like us to dedicate a prayer for someone who is ill, or someone who has died. We have Holistic Massage Therapy at the centre every day, as well as counsellors & psychotherapists. Please pick up their brochures from our centre.
