I discovered mindfulness practice in 2014 having been through a period of difficulty and change, and not knowing where my life was taking me. I still don’t know where my life is taking me, but now I’m ok with not knowing! I have a daily meditation practice which is a great resource in helping me experience my life.
I am a member of the Mindfulness Association and have completed a number of their certificated courses including mindfulness and compassion based living. My mindfulness and meditation practices are a cornerstone in my life, keeping me steady in a crazy world. I also go on retreat once or twice a year with a Buddhist teacher to nurture and replenish myself. Paying attention to my personal care and wellbeing is essential for me to be able to do this therapeutic work.
I started my training in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapeutic Practice at the Karuna Institute in September 2016. I have completed the second year and am now able to take clients. I am registered as a trainee with the UKCP and am committed to working within their ethical code. I am in regular supervision with a Core Process Supervisor.
I am looking for clients who want to attend therapy weekly, for a fixed period of time or on a long term basis. As a trainee I charge a reduced rate of £40 per session. I also carry spaces at lower cost depending on your financial circumstances. I am happy to talk about this with you. I work on Thursday and Friday evenings.
I have experience in group work, co-facilitating a group in meditation and inquiry for a year, and since 2015 I have facilitated groups working on their Immunity to Change (in a corporate environment), and working with individuals on personal goals.
Working with me
It is important that in being with me you feel heard, met and attended to with kindness.
If you are interested in working with me we will have an initial chat on the phone, and arrange a time for a 30 minute chat / consultation. There is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the therapeutic process and the way I work, and for me to find out a little bit more about what is going on for you at the present moment. From there we can make an informed decision about whether we want to work together.
