Meditation Mondays

Meditation Mondays - 2019 - A4

Meditation Mondays is Changing for 2019

In 2018, Lorraine ran the first Meditation Mondays courses to teach the fundamentals of Buddhist prayers and practice. Meditation Mondays in 2018 was two 6 week courses, the Level 1 courses have now finished and the Level 2 course starts in November 2018.

In the New Year, Lorraine will be shaking up the format and Meditation Mondays will become a weekly drop-in session. It will still run from 6pm-7pm on Monday evenings and will begin in January. There won't be six week courses anymore though and all sessions will be open to all.

What will Meditation Mondays be like next year?

  • Meditation Mondays drop-ins are open to all.
  • This is not a course, just regular drop in meditation sessions each week that are guided by Lorraine.
  • Buddhist prayers will be done in Tibetan (phonetics) and in English at the start and end of the meditation.
  • If people are new to meditation some advice will be given about posture but just let Lorraine know at the start of the meditation.
  • You don't have to be a practicing Buddhist to attend
  • If you are a mindfulness practitioner you can attend this drop-in for more meditation practice, but please be mindful that there will be prayers to start and end each session

Tibetan Buddhist Meditation

Tibetan Buddhist meditation includes methods of increasing presence and awareness of our thoughts and feelings. With this practice we learn how to better respond to the circumstances that arise in our daily life.

Do you have to be a Buddhist to attend?

Please note, that the Meditation Monday drop-ins are open to all with an interest in learning more about Tibetan Buddhism and are aimed at teaching from the fundamentals. As such, they are suitable for people who are entirely new to Buddhism or are already practicing.
